Hi Visitor,
Spring was in the air, but winter has
spread her white blanket once again.
Someone told me they saw a robin the other
day! I would guess "the early bird" will
have to put catching the worm and its nest
building aside a little longer.
Happy Birthday to my wife, who turned
## today! You didn't really expect me to
tell you her age, did you? She'd kill me
if I told you she was a mere 59. It's
amazing to think that we've known each
other for more that 40 years; and I love
her more and more each day. (No, it's not
amazing that I love her more and
more--it's just a fact.) And I want her
around for 40 more years. She might think
a little differently about that, but
that's my wish.
I've received my second Coaching
Certification this month from
Comprehensive Coaching U (more recently
known as Coaching Institute). Given the
certification process of both institutions
I've attended (CTA and CI), I believe I
have deeply broadened my skills in the
field of coaching and I am in a great
position to offer a comprehensive coaching
product to my clients. I've also been
honored with a position to mentor coach
new students of Coaching Institute.
I have also been appointed by Governor
Jim Douglas as a member of the Board of
Allied Mental Health Practitioners. It is
an honor to serve the people of Vermont in
this way; however, given all the other
obligations in my life, I'm not sure I can
accept the appointment. More thought and
consideration needs to be processed about
this matter.
I've also been hired as one of three
Assistant Directors to the Executive
Directors, Joe and Sue Monaco, of the BNI
Vermont region. As you can see, I continue
to deepen my trench, but as one of my
client's is so fond of saying, "It's ALL
good!"
My grandson is doing better; his
basketball team took second place in the
tournament. They only lost by three
points, which made for a very exciting
game.
May you all continue to foster
healthy lives, create new goals, and be
well.

Dancing with the
"Stars" |
 |
|
There is much in the air about
"change" these days with reality TV
bringing the spirit of change into our
homes. Shows like Survivor, The
Amazing Race, American Idol, Extreme
Home Makeover, The Biggest Loser, to
name a few, showcase people making
extreme changes in their lives. I
realize in many cases it is a matter
of hoping to win a cash award;
however, the reality is that lives of
people in these shows are changing in
many ways that they had not considered
before participating as contenders.
Aside from the fact that some reality
shows are completely ludicrous (and
you may think all of them are), many
of these shows allow us to see how
people are stretching their boundaries
and comfort levels to new heights.
Many of the contenders achieve much
more than the intended award; for
many, their sense of self emerges in
new ways, creating something new and
exciting for themselves.
Stretching
our comfort levels and perceived
boundaries is not an easy task. I
think that is why many of the reality
TV shows hold a particular intrigue
for many people. We champion winners!
We rally within ourselves when we see
others accomplishing feats that we
secretly hold as our own personal
desires. It isn't always about
becoming the one who crosses the
finish line; it's about the process,
the challenge, and the small (yet
great) accomplishments made along the
way.
The Winter Olympics is a great
example of American people supporting
their favorite athletes who spent
countless minutes, hours, days, months
and years perfecting their game. Not
all become winners of the Gold,
Silver, and Bronze medals, but they
become winners in the minds and hearts
of the American people. As American's,
we value hard work, success, and the
pursuit of happiness. But too often we
believe that's some one else's lot in
life and not our own.
Each of us has a God-given right to
pursue lives that are meaningful,
empowering, filled with success and
happiness. This does mean, however, to
reach the destiny of our desire we
must believe and invest in ourselves.
Also, as Americans, we often believe
investing in things outside of
ourselves will bring the most
happiness, when in reality external
rewards are short-lived, leaving us to
search for more and more "things" to
fill our lives. Investing in respect
to growing our inner selves has a
longer return on our investment.
The latest show that I found
intriguing was "Dancing with the
Stars". It was intriguing because
people who are already known for
living what we consider successful
lives, stretched the boundaries of
their perceived success. Besides the
fact that I love to dance myself, and
having a son who has spent much of his
working career as a professional
dancer, I found the willingness of
these successful people to do
something so foreign to their already
perfected talents very uplifting. The
"Stars" if you will, were coached by
professional dancers to perfect skills
in ballroom dancing. It was
"successful" people being coached into
making something new for themselves.
The camaraderie among the contestants
was heartfelt; the lives being changed
were real-the viewer could see it in
their emotions and hard work.
Begin to create something new for
yourself even if you are already
successful. Experience your core
genius and stretch your boundaries;
renew your life purpose and live your
dream. Consider investing in yourself.
Remember, it's successful people who
seek co-creative partners to assist
them in creating that something new!

Profiling The Specifics of Your
Personality that Enhance Your Ability
to Be Successful! |
 |
|
Have you ever wondered why others with
your similar talents seem to be more
successful? Have you ever questioned
how others can create more out of
their day with similar circumstances
in their lives as you have? Do you
find yourself getting flustered or
feeling conflicted when communicating
your thoughts and feelings? Have you
ever wondered why some people are
strong-willed, action oriented, and
interested in getting immediate
results, while you may seem more
inclined to work behind the scenes,
performing in more consistent and
predictable ways? Or are you the type
that likes to share ideas, energize
and entertain others, yet you're a
stickler for quality and like planning
ahead? Do you believe you are a
combination of all these traits? Well,
you are! But one or two of these
personality traits run truer for you
than do others.
As a tool for my coaching practice,
I now offer the DiSC Classic
Personality Profile that is designed
to help you know yourself more
completely so that you can improve
communication, ease frustration and
conflict, and develop better
relationships between employers and
employees, team members within a
business, as well as strengthen your
overall relational and communication
skills with your significant other.
The DiSC profile is a measure of
your personal behaviors in particular
environments, showing you when your
behaviors are strengths and when they
become your liability. The DiSC
profile is primarily suited for an
increase in self-awareness in a
certain situation where you can use
the information to improve
relationships with your family
members, employees, or other peers in
other environmental situations.
In essence, the DiSC Classic
profile addresses behavioral responses
based on your individual reaction to a
particular environment. In fact, the
profile can be a great instrument in
helping you determine whether another
environment or strategy may be more
effective and assist you in becoming
more skillful in adapting to
circumstances in which you find
yourself. Ultimately, it can assist
you in becoming more successful in
creating the life you want for
yourself.
How we see ourselves in certain
situations may or may not cause us to
behave differently; the DiSC profile
scores can indicate how intensely you
might react to your partner, your work
peers, or your boss. And as you learn
more about your own personality traits
in certain environments, you'll be
better able to understand and respond
better to the personalities of others
within the same setting.
If you are interested in knowing how
you can better use your personality
traits to further your career, develop
stronger communication skills,
strengthen your intimate relationship,
create a stronger and more cohesive
management team, improve customer
service, etc., taking the DiSC Profile
can move you closer to your goals.

get your very own profile.
